Point Lobos Guided Hike - Mon
What's this activity?
Point Lobos is widely referred to as the “crown jewel” of the California State Park System—a protected stretch of coastline known for its cliffs, cypress groves, and unforgettable ocean views. This guided hike follows a relaxed-to-moderate pace with time built in to stop at the best overlooks, take photos, and hear the natural history that makes the reserve so unique. As Francis McComas famously described it, Point Lobos is “the greatest meeting of land and water in the world.” In spring, harbor seals are often visible from the overlooks, sometimes with pups, and the reserve is rich with birdlife year-round. What to wear/bring: layered clothing (coastal temps can be cool), comfortable walking shoes with good traction, sun protection, and a light rain/wind layer just in case. A light backpack to carry water and extra layers is encouraged. • Wear tennis shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat and layers are recommended and bring a phone for photos!
